Benban Solar Developers Association (BSDA) is hiring an E&S Manager

Benban Solar Developers Association is looking for a motivated and talented Environmental and Social Manager with extensive experience in the E&S managerial level.

Introduction:

Benban Solar Park includes different Photovoltaic (PV) plots operated by different developers. It is the largest solar park in the region. The shared services are provided by a Facility Management Company (FMC), which include shared roads, security, pest management, waste and hazardous waste management, etc. The Benban Solar Developers Association (BSDA) is composed of representative developers of the park. The BSDA hired a technical consultant for monitoring the FMC performance, including Environmental and Social considerations. The BSDA also hired a full time CSR Manager for managing its CSR projects.

The BSDA decided to hire an E&S manager to help monitor the FMC and technical consultant, as well as to communicate their performance with the lending entities (banks) in liaison with the CSR manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and direction to the Facility Management Company (FMC) in compliance with lenders requirements (in accordance with IFC/EBRD performance requirements).
• Lead the continuous refinement and implementation of our funds’ Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) and HSEMS.
• In cooperation with the investment teams, coordinate E&S due diligences and monitor of investees
• Oversee E&S data collection and analysis for performance reporting
• Lead exchange on impact and sustainability matters with internal and external stakeholders
• Follow-up on lenders’ E&S requirements implementation including IFC’s, EBRD’s, etc.
• Communicate lender requirements to FMC and follow up on their implementation and reporting.
• Support the implementation of CSR activities, upon the request of the CSR Manager, to ensure compliance with E&S requirements and the performance standers.

Requirements:

• Min 5-7 years of relevant experience in E&S management
• University degree (Bachelor/Master) in environmental studies, or other relevant disciplines.
• Full understanding and work experience with IFC/EBRD performance standards/requirements
• Knowledge of international good practice for private sector management of sustainability risks
• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
• Well-developed leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and follow up on multiple work-streams and work under time pressure.
• Flexibility and a team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Fluency in other languages of Finance in Motion’s countries of operation is an asset
• Excellent English/Arabic reporting capabilities
• Works with minimal supervision.

Work Location:

• Based in Aswan governorate and may be asked to attend meetings in Cairo when required.
